about

I wrote this song in the summer of 2013, after missing a series of trains. Eventually we made it to Paris.

lyrics

We just missed the last train to Paris
I don’t mind, I don’t mind
We slept on the dirty seats
I don’t mind, I don’t mind
Maybe if you said you didn’t like the way these days have been
I could change them for you

We drank warm ale by the River Amstel
That was fine, that was fine
We played our songs for no one but ourselves
That was fine, love, that was fine
Maybe if you said you didn’t like the way the story ends
I could change it for you

I could change for you
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to
When you’re feeling blue, I could feel the same way too
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to

We stayed up all night, talkin’ ‘bout the stars
and why they shine, and I find…
The more I get to know you, the more I know you’re one of a kind
And you’re all mine
I know that someday when we’re older we’ll look back and smile
And say I wouldn’t change this for the world

I could change for you
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to
When you’re feeling blue, I could feel the same way too
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to

I could change for you
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to
When you’re feeling blue, I could feel the same way too
But I’m glad you don’t ask me to
Darling I’m glad you don’t ask me to
And that’s why I could change for you
