about
A song about finding home wherever you are.
lyrics
I traveled down a thousand highways
With just a suitcase and a song
Like Sinatra, I did it my way
Though my life ain’t been as long
I’m still looking a place, looking for a place to call my own
I’ve held my own against the seasons
Chased after summer, laughed at rain
Fell asleep at railway stations
But don’t we all forget to change?
Yeah, I still ain't found a place, still ain't found a place that feels like home
If you’re on you’re own, know that you’re not alone
Just close your eyes… close your eyes and you're home
Home, home, home
When you feel alone, close your eyes and you’re home
I saw a figure in the distance
Like a shadow made of glass
We spoke that night, she shared her wisdom
She said, “good things ain’t built to last...
As long as you’re running this race, you’ll never find a place that feels like home”
If you’re on you’re own, know that you’re not alone
Just close your eyes, close your eyes and you're home
Home, home, home
When you feel alone, close your eyes and you’re home
This endless road keeps calling me on, calling me on
Wherever I find myself, I wanna be gone, wanna be gone
This restlessness may be a blessing now
Before too long, I’ll long to rest my bones
Not in the ground, but in the sky
I can feel you out there somewhere
Wondering where you might belong
Life’s like what strikes before the thunder
It's bright, but doesn’t last for long
Instead of looking for a place, looking for a place to call your own
Look inside, and look alive, this body is your home
